When the final day came before graduation, recruits were able to see their family the night prior for two hours. This would be the first time you saw your mom, dad, grandparents, girlfriends, etc. It was an awesome feeling knowing that they would see the hard work that you put into becoming a United States Marine. The change is drastic.

You go from a 200 lb boy to a 175 lb chiseled, rock-hard man. You have this SWAG about you that you accomplished something that only .01% of Americans can say they accomplished. You didn’t graduate boot camp and everything was just going to fall into place. This was the graduation but it was also the beginning.

You have to take everything you have learned from this book and the training and apply it at the end of the day. You might have to re-read this book 10 times for it to click. I can promise you that the one person who will re-read this book ten times will learn ten things and you will add 1-2 applications a week to what you are doing.

That’s 50k a year extra by learning a few things from this book! What we found out after boot camp was if you continued to train and run and learn you would become bigger and badder than you thought you ever would. Look at the Marine Sgt who has been in for 10 years and just graduated Sergeants Course versus a new recruit from recruit training. He’s polished, he’s got more SWAG, he’s got more bearing, more discipline, more leadership, and he’s ready to lead Marines.

Just because you read this book or went through training you’ll be good, but we can’t teach experience. You have to hit the road and the pavement and go! Don’t look back. Whether you are doing the presentation exactly or it’s a little off, just do it. If you give 100%, it will come. By you taking the first step in ordering and reading this book, I commend you on your dedication to becoming the best you can be in Final Expense and in life.

I wish you well and look forward to hearing about your success in the final expense industry. Understand that every house you walk into that smells, is cockroach infested, or has floors fallen in, we were there with you. You meet the lady who couldn’t afford the marker for her husband's grave and you show her how we’ll get her home when she dies and put that marker on the grave for her… We were with you! This job is 100% about helping people. You are going to get cussed out up and down, told to get off their property, maybe even a shotgun pulled on you.

We’ll be with you! That’s going to mold you into the best agent you can be. You’re going to get through all those NO’s and get to the YES’s. Remember that when someone tells you to F off or “Get off my porch,” that’s one lead closer to the next sale. Get rid of the NO’s so that you can get to the YES’s.

I won’t go into names of who I would and would not work for in my book. Be careful, look at the contracts. Meet the person who is going to train you. Take a ride with them. Spend the day with them, because he or she is in charge of your success. If you like the person you are with and don’t mind communicating with him or her multiple times a day for six months, then that’s the person you want to be with. Have a plan in place for promotions. Take your time in becoming a leader and manager. Make your money first. Patience is a virtue in this business. Be patient, but do not waste a day.

You should be working for residual income. If your residuals are not over 5, 6, 7, or 8%, then you’re being robbed. Someone else is living on your dream.  At the end of the day, if what you are doing is what you enjoy, then it is not work and that is where you need to be.
